General Motors Corp. announced Tuesday it has signed a deal to sell its Hummer line, just one day after filing for bankruptcy.  But GM would not identify the buyer nor name a price, saying only that the deal would close by the end of September.

GM had revealed in April that it was courting three serious offers for the Hummer brand. The automaker would not confirm Reuters' report that offers ranged from $100 million to $200 million.

The latest Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is truly a remarkable car and what most car enthusiasts would consider "fast". The video that we found today redefines "fast" for the Z06 putting it in another class as it is able to run the quarter mile (1/4 mile) in 8.8 seconds at 154mph. That would make it the world's fastest C6 Vette... that is until you find a faster one and post it in our comment section below!

1- 1955 Pontiac
For the first few decades of its existence, Pontiac was known as a brand for offering a slight step up from GM's run-of-the-mill Chevrolet line. All of that changed with the introduction of Pontiac's new line of automobiles in 1955, which was also the first year of Pontiac's classic V8 engine. Over the next few years, Pontiac would hone its image as GM's performance brand and in 1957, Bunkie Knudsen was put in charge of the brand. His first act as chief of Pontiac was to remove the twin chrome strips from the hood that had been a styling trademark of the brand since 1935. With that seemingly innocuous move, Knudson made it clear that big changes were in store at Pontiac.

Car enthusiasts have had to shed a tear or two because of the demise of certain car brands. Take the latest demonstration of fratricide with the announced death of Pontiac. Brands like Pontiac and the late Oldsmobile have been part of our life, and frankly we don’t really want to see them go.
