is provided for Muncie model 282/5TM40.
IDENTIFICATION - Aluminum 2-piece case houses all the gears with a flat steel
9-bolt plate covering the rear bearings. The front input bearing and seal are
serviced together as part of the front bearing retainer and can be pressed out
of the front case. A round detent cover, approximately 3 1/2" in diameter,
is located inside the bell housing. The syncro rings are steel with a brass
lining. At the ends of the input and pinion shafts there are torx retainers
(nuts) which are treaded opposite directions from each other.
