The NP208 was introduced in Chevrolet and GMC?s K10, K20 and K20 Suburban
from 1981 to 1986 and was most popular behind TH350, TH400 and Th700R4 automatic
transmissions. NP208?s that were mated to TH700-R4 and had a female 27-spline
input gear. TH400s were also used with 208?s, and these had a stronger 32-spline
input
Full size Cherokees used the NP208 from '80-'83 and the J-trucks J10 & J20 used
it from '80-88. The NP208 was the "Command-Trac". Jeep?s Grand Wagoneer
used the NP208 from 1984 until 1988. Dodge used the NP208D in the D series from 1982-1987
and Ford installed the NP208 from 1980 to 1986 in full sized Bronco?s, F250 and F350.
