in part identification and the assembly sequence. The NP246 transfer case is found in General
Motors, Chevrolet, 1999 and later Chevrolet/GMC 4WD 1/2 Ton Pickup Silverado/Seirra, Suburban,  Tahoe &
Yukon 4 wheel drive vehicles.
The NP246 has a design problem, the pump can wear out the case causing premiture failure and leaking. The problem with merely replacing the case is it won’t solve the problem. Magnesium
cases are soft; aluminum pumps are harder. The problem leak will come back. Maybe
on someone else’s watch, but surely you pride yourself in fixing problems.  Fix a factory defect, before problems arise we recommened our Case Saver part number MW52007. You need to install this part before the oil pump causes your transfer case to fail.

A cross reference table is provide to assist you in identification of your
transfer case. Check tag located
on rear of unit for model number. An illustrated drawing is provide below
to assist you in parts identification, ordering and assembly. Should you
elect to replace you NP246 transfer case unit with our high quality rebuilt transfer cases that are remanufactured

warranty. All rebuilt transfer case get new seals, bearings, chains, fork pad,
encoder motors and viscous couplers. All shafts, slider, hubs and planets are
