Information and parts are provided for the following Transmission: Borg-Warner T5 non World Class and T5 World Class 5 Speed (RWD) an illustrated drawing is also provided. IDENTIFICATION: All aluminum top-loaded transmission with internal single-rail shift linkage. Casting number is 13-52-xxxxxxxxx. T5: Has cylindrical roller bearings supporting the cluster gear. All 5 syncro rings are brass. T body GM cars have a smaller Front Countershaft bearing. General Motors S10 2wd trucks have mechanical speedometer, GM S10 1989-1995 have electronic speedometer, and GM 4 X 4 S10 1983-1995. T5 also found in Astro Vans with 2.8 or 4.3 V6 engines. W/C T5: Has tapered bearings supporting the cluster gear. 1st/2nd syncro rings are a 3-piece design, 3rd/4th are lined steel and 5th is brass. The following table provides a summary of vehicles that shipped world class T5 transmissions:
|Note: 1987-88 Cougar & T-Bird & 1987-93 Mustang with 2.3L 4 Cycle utilize a larger front input shaft bearing than other T5's. 1993-96 Cobra uses a tapered input pilot bearing rather than the loose rollers commonly found in T5's.|
