Auburn Positractions Limited-Slip Differentials, never get stuck again!

Just when you need traction only one wheel turning!

This unique cone clutch design, is made to exacting specifications, outlasts and outperforms clutch-plate designs for proven traction enhancement, performance and unsurpassed durability over time.
Our Auburn limited slip differential positraction units provide you with more performance? It is a combination, better yet an optimization, of our unique
and robust cone clutch and the preload spring arrangement we provide. Limited slip differentials cannot be compared by simply looking at the amount of preload. Preload refers to the load on the clutch, not the torque required to slip the clutch. Therefore, a differential with 800 lbs. of preload many perform better than a differential with 1500 lbs. of preload, just due to the design of the clutches. Our cone clutch arrangement makes us the best—the numbers don’t lie. If you want to be the best, demand the best–an Auburn Pro or High Performance Series limited slip differential.
The highly efficient torque transfer capability of the Auburn Gear limited-slip differential is achieved through the use of cone clutches coupled to beveled side gears. As torque is transmitted through the differential side gears to the axle shafts, the side gear separating forces and spring pre-load firmly seat the cones into the differential case. The cone design, along with the applied force, determines the torque transfer capability of the differential. When torque levels decrease, as in a cornering maneuver, the gear separating forces also decrease, allowing the axle shafts to rotate independently. All Auburn Gear limited-slip differentials are designed to provide the maximum amount of torque transfer without compromising the performance requirements of a vehicle in situations where torque transfer is not required.
Two Different Series Auburn Positraction Units Available What’s best for me - High Performance or Pro Series? You can’t lose with either one, but for that extra performance edge, the Pro Series provides the higher bias performance design to put you over the top and into the winner’s circle. |
|
High Performance Series for standard equipment on most popular cars and trucks. Superb power transfer with more torque delivered to the high traction wheel, even when the loose wheel traction is zero. |
Pro Series is the ultimate in limited slip differentials. A high bias differential that delivers more torque, more traction and faster engagement for controlled power transfer and quick reaction to changing load conditions! Recommended for improved performance in car, pick-up, and van applications. See table below for applications on Pro Serie |

The highly efficient torque transfer capability of the Auburn Gear limited-slip differential is achieved through the use of cone clutches coupled to beveled side gears. As torque is transmitted through the
differential side gears to the axle shafts, the side gear separating forces and spring pre-load firmly seat the cones into the differential case.
No matter what your application - performance or passenger cars, light duty trucks, vans, sport utility vehicles, off road, or recreational vehicles - the Auburn Positraction limited-slip differential is engineered to provide smooth torque sensing operation with bias ratios to meet your performance need.
What's the difference? Gain That's the difference with Auburn Positraction
Torque gain. Traction gain. Price-to-performance gain. Any way you slice it, Auburn's Limited Slip Differential gives you gain right where you want it .. on the road and in your wallet!
Check out these Auburn Positraction advantages:
- More Torque to the High-Traction Wheel -- Even when loose wheel is ZERO!
- Less Deflection under Load -- The stress is on the extra-large flange and the one-piece housing, not on the bolts.
You'll know high-performance when you feel it. That's what you want, and that's what we give you at a price that beats the competition flat!
